Shalala Music Outreach Shalala Music Outreach

A major educational and cultural resource for South Florida since its inception in 1926, the Frost School of Music has deep ties to the local community. Through numerous outreach and special programs, funded by our donors, Frost is able to touch the lives of many children in our community.

  • FROST Community OutreachDonna E. Shalala MusicReach Program: With the support of our donors, Frost School of Music’s innovative MusicReach program collaborates with local public schools, charter schools, and community centers. Graduate students and undergraduate music mentors provide free music lessons and after-school music instruction in economically disadvantaged areas throughout the region. • Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra: The Henry Mancini Institute is making a real difference in the culture of our region, adding to the expanding visual and performing arts scene. This is all possible due to the generosity of our Moon River Society supporters. Moon River Society patrons receive special invitations to receptions and salons with Dean Shelly Berg, Artistic Director Terence Blanchard, and visiting guest artists. Moon River Society supporters also receive preferred seating at many HMI concerts in UM Gusman Concert Hall. We invite you to speak with us about becoming a member of Moon River Society. To donate to this program click here.
